This usually works straight away - but if there is a listing that is pretty close to yours that will want video to support your listing as well. 

1. When you create your Google Business Listing enter all the relevant details, such your your business name - this should be the one you registered - be careful this should be unique - this is why you can't register a business name that is too much like another that has been taken. 
2. Click Get verified. Phone or SMS.
3. Answer the call (this will be an automated voice recording reading out the verification code that you will need to enter in Google Business) or open the text with the code.
4. Enter the code into your profile - this will either be immediately approved or this will take a few days to be activated. If it doesn't show you can follow-up with another step below. 

This is the road less taken - similar to the phone or SMS process - you simply enter the code as it arrives to verify your business listing.

3. Check your email address that you created the listing with - and grab the verification code that you will need to enter in Google Business.
